WHEN & WHY DID YOU START:
I started four months ago when some friends from work convinced me to come along and give it a try. After the first class, I was hooked.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR PRACTICE:
I like that practicing yoga draws me inward and makes me forget everything else going on in my life at the moment, whether I've had a great day, or a terrible one, the practice is always there for me. There is a wonderful sense of peace in working hard and concentrating on just one thing.
ARE YOU CURRENTLY FACING ANY CHALLENGES WITHIN YOUR PRACTICE?
It's always a challenge to find where my 'edge' is in any pose, especially the more complex ones. It can be hard to tell when I'm working hard in the pose correctly, or when the pose is hard because I'm not doing it right. Finding that balance in my body is part of the fun, and also the biggest challenge.
I love and hate dolphin pose. I've had a few classes when I could feel my weight shift gracefully toward an inversion, an many more when I felt like a pile of rocks. Getting upside-down is one of my goals, so it's nice to work in dolphin and get a little closer to that.
