Hot Strength Instructor

Location: Elements Hot Yoga, Bellingham, WA
Status: Independent Contractor
Compensation: Per-class rate and/or revenue share (as agreed upon in Contractor Agreement)

Position Summary

The Hot Strength Instructor is responsible for delivering an engaging, high-energy fitness experience that combines elements of yoga, Pilates, functional strength training, and endurance-based movement in a heated studio environment. Classes incorporate light, medium, and heavy weights while emphasizing proper form, safety, and accessibility for participants of all experience levels.

The ideal instructor creates a motivating atmosphere through strong coaching, purposeful sequencing, upbeat music, and consistent student engagement while offering modifications and progressions to support individual needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safe, effective, and energizing Hot Strength classes in a heated studio environment.

  • Design and deliver well-structured class sequences that incorporate yoga-inspired movement, Pilates principles, and strength training techniques.

  • Utilize light, medium, and heavy weights to create balanced, full-body workouts.

  • Maintain a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and instruction throughout each class.

  • Provide clear verbal cues, demonstrations, and alignment guidance.

  • Offer appropriate modifications and progressions to accommodate varying fitness levels, injuries, and physical limitations.

  • Curate upbeat, motivating playlists that enhance the class experience while aligning with Studio standards.

  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.

  • Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes.

  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and professional studio environment.

  • Communicate promptly with Studio management regarding scheduling, coverage needs, and operational matters.

Qualifications

  • Certification in Yoga, Pilates, Group Fitness, Personal Training, or a related fitness discipline preferred.

  • Experience leading group fitness, yoga, Pilates, strength, or functional training classes.

  • Knowledge of exercise modifications, injury prevention, and movement mechanics.

  • Ability to confidently coach participants through weighted exercises in a heated environment.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills.

  • CPR/AED certification preferred or required based on Studio policy.

Independent Contractor Status

This position is performed as an independent contractor. Instructors are responsible for maintaining any required certifications, licenses, insurance, and tax obligations associated with independent contractor status.

Hot Power Yoga Instructor

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate, reliable, and engaging Hot Power Yoga Instructor to lead safe, challenging, and inspiring classes for students of all experience levels. The ideal instructor creates a welcoming environment while delivering a high-quality yoga experience that aligns with the studio's values, standards, and community culture.As an independent contractor, instructors maintain control over their teaching style, sequencing, and methods while providing professional services in accordance with studio scheduling and operational expectations.

Responsibilities

Lead dynamic and safe hot power yoga classes. Arrive on time and be prepared to teach scheduled classes. Provide clear verbal instruction, demonstrations, and modifications as appropriate. Foster an inclusive, supportive, and encouraging environment for students. Maintain awareness of student safety and respond appropriately to participant needs. Communicate professionally with studio management regarding scheduling, substitutions, and studio updates. Secure qualified substitute instructors when unable to teach a scheduled class, in accordance with studio policies. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized practice space before and after classes. Uphold studio standards for professionalism, community engagement, and student experience. Participate in occasional studio events, workshops, or community-building activities as mutually agreed upon.

Qualifications

Current Yoga Teacher Certification (200-hour minimum required).Experience teaching hot yoga, power yoga, vinyasa, or related styles. Current CPR/AED certification preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to create an engaging and accessible class experience for students of varying abilities.Professional, dependable, and community-oriented approach to teaching.

Independent Contractor Relationship

This position is performed as an independent contractor and does not create an employer-employee relationship. Instructors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, certifications, and business expenses as required by law and their individual circumstances.

Physical Requirements

Ability to safely demonstrate and teach yoga postures.Ability to work in a heated studio environment.Ability to stand, move, and instruct classes for extended periods.
